Dummy-ModulesWhen implementing a building project in southern Germany PV modules were custom made in a glass-glass version for a rooftop system. Here the modules were installed in a transverse mounting arrangement. To reflect the geometric triangular shape of the hip roof with the solar system, the integration by trapezoid and triangular modules in special glass-glass-version was necessary. As each of these modules contains a different number of solar cells, it was not technically possible to customize these as workable modules, but only as a dummy modules. To give these modules a realistic look, the cells and interconnections were arranged exactly as in a fully functional module. Only material was used, which is usually in PV modules. For these modules understandably cells were used without electrical power, because these modules serve only the optical filling. The challenge was to produce visually error-free modules with partly very unfavorable glass dimensions for the lamination process .This task, we could master in perfect quality without building even a test module. |

Architecture, insulation and solar expansion make the house an energy producer, which produces even more energy than it consumes by effectively usage. Effective insulation and control of heat flow in the seasons provide uniform heat in winter and cooling in summer.
